Winter Solstice 2009

SOLSTICE

At the still of the year
as the sun stands still
in the deep dark stillness of the longest night
I breathe
I listen
I am

I know
I see
I dream

child of Earth
blue, green planet
wandering, dancing mother

I take this winter pause
to thank you for giving me life
right here
right now
for giving me more than I can ever hope to want or need or use

I sit in wonder
in awe
knowing that I am just exactly where I am meant to be
loved
held
cradled

I know
I see
I dream

I breathe
I listen
I am

in the deep dark stillness of the longest night
as the sun stands still
and we turn towards another solar year
